Pennsylvania Death Metal band BLUDGEON released a 1997 demo entitled 'Maniac Nun With A Bat', distributed through The Crucifier Brotherhood. 'Abandon All Hope' followed in 2001, after which, due to the presence of several US acts bearing the same title, the band switched names to MEGATON.

The group comprised vocalist / guitarist Cazz Grant ('The Black Lourde of Crucifixion') of AMISEGARDAUQ, BRETHREN, GRAND BELIAL'S KEY, CRUCIFIER, DECEIVERION, INFANTRY and INFERNAL HATRED repute, guitarist "Drottin Bane" (a.k.a. Jeff Anderson) having credits with BRETHREN, AMISEGARDAUQ, CRUCIFIER and HEARSE, second guitarist "Ordog" (Vince Papi) of CRUCIFIER and HEARSE plus CORPUS ROTTEN man Kevin Coates on drums. Following the debut demo BLUDGEON added ABOMINOG vocalist Chris Yuastella. Granr exited in 2000.
