Biography

BLACK SHEEP, out of Rochester, New York, was the first American Hard Rock act to be signed to the Chrysalis label prior to a switch to Capitol Records. The group's progress was halted dramatically when, a matter of days into a nationwide tour supporting KISS, the band's vehicle rolled and destroyed most of their equipment. BLACK SHEEP, unable to replace the gear, lost the tour slot. Singer Louis Grammatico, better known as LOU GRAMM, had earlier recorded with POOR HEART in 1970. Post BLACK SHEEP, Gramm went on to enjoy infinitely more successful times fronting FOREIGNER, reuniting with bassist BRUCE TURGON for a few years after his decision to go solo in the late 80's.

Turgon joined MICHAEL DES BARRES led PHOENIX for the 1980 album 'In Full View' then turned up in a much heavier mode thumping the four strings in the 10 Records signed Los Angeles based Metal band WARRIOR exactly ten years after BLACK SHEEP's debut. Turgon also made his mark with the LOU GRAMM fronted SHADOWKING in union with ex-DIO and WHITESNAKE guitarist VIVIAN CAMPBELL.

Post BLACK SHEEP, guitarist Don Mancuso experimented with Fusion group AURORA, worked with IAN LLOYD and then founded CHEATER. Other acts included IMAGINARY FEW, CELTIC FIRE and an appearance on PHIL NARO's 'Glass Mountain' album. In 2003 Mancuso readied a solo album entitled 'D-Drive', these sessions including vocal contributions from LOU GRAMM and Phil Naro. 2004 saw Mancuso touring the USA with LOU GRAMM's band.

BRUCE TURGON readied his solo debut, 'Outside Looking In', through the Italian Frontiers label in 2005.

Don Mancuso joined Lou Gramm once again in THE LOU GRAMM BAND, issuing a June 2009 self-titled album.
