Biography

Rising from the ashes of AMERICAN TEARS, New York's TOUCH was picked up by RAINBOW's then management and signed to Ariola for 1980's cult 'Touch' album. The group would then become the first band ever to play the 'Monsters Of Rock' festival at Castle Donington by opening the inaugural event in 1980, which was headlined by RAINBOW. Legend reputes that one of the band members swallowed a bee during this performance.

A second album was recorded with TODD RUNDGREN producing, but the group split. Whilst MARK MANGOLD and Craig Brooks worked with ex BLACKJACK vocalist MICHAEL BOLTON on his first solo album, DOUG HOWARD remained working with Rundgren before a year in the company of EDGAR WINTER.

By the mid 80's Howard had hooked up with Glenn Kithcart in the New York based 15 MINUTES, a group that also included guitarists Mike Miranda and David Leonard. Following his initial work with Bolton, Mark Mangold wrote material for the likes of CHER before forming DRIVE, SHE SAID with vocalist Al Fritsch. A self-titled debut album was released through CBS Records in 1989 (featuring a new version of 'Don't You Know What Love Is') before Mangold bought the rights to the album from the label and subsequently licensed it to Music For Nations for European consumption. DRIVE, SHE SAID issued further product before Mangold wound up the project and formed FLESH AND BLOOD with SAVATAGE guitarist Al Pitrelli and ex-WAYSTED and TYKETTO vocalist Danny Vaughn in 1996. Mark has since recorded a solo album.

TOUCH's debut album was eventually re-issued on CD for the first time by Music For Nations less one track but with the addition of two unreleased songs from the shelved second album, 'Take It Back' and 'Feels Like Love'..

By 1997 Howard was acting as frontman for STUN LEER on their 1998 album 'Once'. MARK MANGOLD issued a solo album. In 2000 Mangold performed on the 'Signs Of Life' album as part of AOR supergroup THE SIGN. DOUG HOWARD was to issue a solo album in 2000 'Last Man Standing'.

Rock Candy Records re-issued the debut album in 2008. That same year Mark Mangold was active with yet another new band, THE RADIANT.
