Biography

Featuring Sebastian Bach's buddy and former bandmate Ronnie Sweetheart, THE THROBS were founded by erstwhile SWEET PAIN drummer Ronnie 'Taz' Magri and included the aforementioned Sweetheart, guitarist Pete Pagan and ex-STIV BATORS and ANGELS IN VAIN bassist Danny 'Discipline' Nordahl. Blending elements Punk, Glam and Sleaze Rock n' Roll, THE THROBS would initially record a demo tape that would be quick to attract Geffen Records.

THE THROBS signed to Geffen in 1989. Second guitarist Roger Ericson, also ex-ANGELS IN VAIN and previously known as Roger Lane in his former band, fellow New York act SMASHED GLADYS, was added in January the same year before Pete Pagan left. THE THROBS were then put to work on concocting an album with producer Bob Ezrin at the controls.

After Pagan had departed ex-AVENGER and THE QUIREBOYS man Ginger spent an extremely short time in the band playing a handful of shows before returning to England and putting THE WILDHEARTS together The THROBS album was completed by October 1990 and released in February 1991. Nordahl subsequently joined the Brijitte West led NY LOOSE and MȪTOCHRIST.
