Biography
Billing themselves as "Total fucking slam" INTERNAL BLEEDING debuted in 1991 with a line up of singer Brian Richards, guitarists Chris Pervalis and Anthony Miola, bassist Tom Slobowski and drummer Brian Tolley. The band would endure repeated line up changes with only Pervalis and Tolley remaining as anchors. 1991 had the band releasing the 'One Dollar' demo followed by a second effort 'Invocation Of Evil' in 1993.
Richards would be replaced by the wonderfully named Eric Wigger but by the time of the debut album 'Voracious Contempt' Frank Rini was fronting the band. Although the album was mixed by Scott Burns the band were far from happy with the end result although in Death Metal circles the album is regarded as a near classic of the genre.
The band toured America during 1996 on a Death Metal package bill alongside SIX FEET UNDER and IMMOLATION. Rini, who when he wasn't growling for a Death Metal band was plugging away at his day job as a policeman, would guest on DISFIGURED's 'Prelude To Dementia' album.
Rini made way for the former DISFIGURED, and apparently Hawaiian shirt obsessed, Ryan Schimmenti. This liaison proved only temporary though as INTERNAL BLEEDING drafted Ray Lebron for the 'Driven To Conquer' album. The record was produced by Brian Griffin of BROKEN HOPE.
Miola would make his exit to have his place taken by ex-PYREXIA man Guy Marchias. Jason Carbone would take Hobbie's position in 2000. INTERNAL BLEEDING made another change in December of 2001 bringing in Jerry Lowe of BODYFARM as the group's new vocalist for the 2002 Olympic album 'Hatefuel'. In mid 2002 longterm guitarist Guy Marchais was replaced with Frank Buffalino.
The band announced a run of live dates alongside PYREXIA and MORTAL DECAY in July of 2003. However, these would seemingly be without founder member Chris Pervelis, who quit in June, and by early July INTERNAL BLEEDING, unable to field a full line up, had withdrawn from the tour. Bassist Jason Carbone also backed out but Pervelis was duly replaced by the REPUDILATION, GFY and 420 credited Matt Ferrara. This newest member also happened to be a participant in PUNCHYOURFACE, the side project of INTERNAL BLEEDING personnel guitarist Frank Buffalino and vocalist Jerry Lowe.
INTERNAL BLEEDING would set 'Hatefuel' as a projected title for a new 2004 opus, recorded at Full Force Studios and engineered by Terrance Hobbs, but by May had switched to a revised branding of 'Onward To Mecca'. North American touring throughout August and September had the band packaged with SIX FEET UNDER. In October INTERNAL BLEEDING were rejoined by founding guitarist Chris Pervelis, following the exit of Frank Buffalino.
The band drafted the temporary services of guitarist Chris Montez from DECRYPT and MUCOPUS drummer Kyle Eddy for a two month US trek partnered with BODIES IN THE GEARS OF THE APPARATUS and STRONG INTENTION in mid 2005. In October 2006 it was announced that four of the original members of INTERNAL BLEEDING, Frank Rini, Chris Pervelis, Brian Hobbie and Bill Tolley, were set to forge a new band.
