TYPE O NEGATIVE members Kenny Hickey, taking the lead vocal role, and drummer Johnny Kelly working with SUPERMASSIV guitar player Matt Brown and bassist Ryan Jurhs, announced the Brooklyn based SEVENTH VOID project in May 2006. Former PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott alongside longtime PANTERA producer Sterling Winfield mixed the debut set of recordings.

In May 2009, 'Heaven Is Gone', the debut album from SEVENTH VOID, sold around 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release, to debut at no. 21 on the Top New Artist Albums Heatseekers chart.
