An uncompromising underground Black Metal legend. KRIEG deal in the rawest of Black Metal delivered in a style and tempo all of their own. Many of KRIEG's releases are extremely scarce to find and command inflated prices on the rarities market. Founded in Somers Point, New Jersey during 1995, until 1997 KRIEG went under the title of IMPERIAL. Bassist Lord Imperial has also formed part of the live line-up for JUDAS ISCARIOT and has involvement with numerous projects including BLACK VIRGINITY, PROFONATION, DEVOTEE and WELTMACHT.

Session drums on the 1998 album 'Rise Of The Imperial Hordes' came courtesy of Teloc Coraxo of BLOODSTORM. Other contributors were erstwhile ABOMINUS man Lord Soth and Ted of AUTUMN TEARS.

KRIEG would eventually become a solo endeavour of Lord Imperial once former member Lord Soth departed to DEVOTEE. A 1998 demo session 'A Crumbling Shrine' would be distributed as a multi band promotion release sharing space with JUDAS ISCARIOT and French band ANTAEUS. Soth would make a return to the group which also pulled in guitarist Azag.

Although a whole string of projected KRIEG releases was earmarked for 2000 on various labels the only release was a shared album 'None Shall Defy The Wrath' in collusion with JUDAS ISCARIOT, ETERNAL MAJESTY and MACABRE OMEN on Spikekult Records. A further split affair was mooted with Canadians ALLFATHER and Hungarian act NEBORA but never transpired.

A live line up for KRIEG was announced for shows in 2000 comprising of Lord Imperial, S. Diabolis of LUST on bass and THORNSPAWN's guitarist Lord Necron and drummer Blackthorn.

KRIEG would have early material combined with KULT OV AZAZEL tracks for a split album through the Genocide label in 2001. Another shared effort witnessed a union with JUDAS ISCARIOT for the 'To The Coming Age Of Intolerance' 7" single. A brand new studio album, 'Destruction Ritual', arrived later the same year through Red Stream Records. A live album 'Kill Yourself Or Someone You Live', recorded in Bitterfeld, Germany in December of 2001, emerged on the Merciless label in 2002. That same a new demo also surfaced, billed as 'Songs Of Resistance'. Darklands Records re-issued 'The Black House' album in 2004, in a limited 500 copy vinyl run with free poster.

KRIEG united with DEMONCY and ABAZAGORATH for the 'USBM Attack 2004' European tour commencing at London's Verve club on 1st April. The Dutch label Displeased Records combined the 'Kill Someone...' and Patrick Bateman' sessions to forge the vinyl 'Savage Nihilism For The Masses' album, a restricted issue of 999 copies, for November 2004 issue.

Early 2005 saw an announcement detailing the formation of a Black Metal "supergroup" dubbed TWILIGHT, a collaboration of underground veterans seeing Imperial joined by Wrest of LEVIATHAN, Malefic of XASTHUR, Azentrius of NACHTMYSTIUM and Hildolf from DRAGUAR. An eponymous album, mastered by Scott Hull of PIG DESTROYER, would be recorded for the Southern Lord label.

In February 2006 Polish label Zerstoerungs Produktionen issued the album 'Sono Lo Scherno' in gatefold vinyl format as a limited edition of 999 hand numbered copies.
