Biography
Bayonne, New Jersey Gothic Metal band OPERATIKA was founded during 2000 by Ukrainian born vocalist Slava Popova, guitarist Bill Visser and drummer Yuri Liakhovitch. Subsequent additions included bassist Kostya and, in early 2003, keyboard player Anna Dok. Kostya was superseded by Chris and on 7th September 2003 OPERATIKA notably opened for NIGHTWISH at Brooklyn's L'amour venue. In January of 2004, bass player Jim Norton joined but would soon be substituted by Stan Folcik. In this incarnation the group recorded the four track demo 'Dreamworld' in April 2005. Live work would include high profile supports to the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, HELLOWEEN, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, THERION, SEBASTIAN BACH, KROKUS, SONATA ARCTICA, LYNCH MOB and EUROPE.
In January 2007 OPERATIKA parted ways with bassist Stan Folcik and replaced him with Diego. However, Michael LePond of SYMPHONY X sessioned bass guitar on the October 2008 released album 'The Calling'.
