Biography

Highly influential Death-Grind Metal band cited by many of todays protagonists of the genre as a direct influence. Previously known as GENOCIDE and issuing the 1985 cassette 'Violent Death', the group's first product under their new title would be the 1986 demo tape 'Stench Of Burning Flesh'. Guitarist Aaron Freeman was previously a member of PAIN. In 1994 ex-REPULSION bassist Scott Carlson joined British Doomsters CATHEDRAL for live work.

NAPALM DEATH paid homage to REPULSION by covering 'Maggots In Your Coffin' on their 2000 'Leaders Not Followers' album. The 2002 album re-release collected together album tracks, the 'Excruciation' 7" single cuts, 'Repulsion' demo songs and a bonus disc replete with rare demo material pluis a live radio broadcast from GENOCIDE.

In July of 2003, after a fifteen year absence from the Metal scene, REPULSION reformed. The line up of vocalist / bassist Scott Carlson, guitarists Aaron Freeman and Matt Olivo with Dave "Grave" Holingshead on the drums were announced as headline act the 2003 Milwaukee Metalfest. In 2004 Guitarist Aaron Freeman exited, being superseded by EXHUMED (and briefly EXODUS) man Matt Harvey. October of 2004 witnessed a European live appearance at the French 'Tattoo the Mind' festival and, in January 2005, a showing at the 'Trauma Fest' in Madrid, Spain. However, with regular drummer Dave Hollingshead unable to commit to these shows the band drafted CRETIN and EXHUMED man Col Jones.

In January 2007 it was learned Matt Olivo was working up a fresh project entitled MONSTERSHOCK in union with Kam Lee of MASSACRE, DEATH and DENIAL FIEND repute.
