Biography

GUTROT was created during the Summer of 2003, originally conceived as a side project of MULCH conceived by guitarist Jon Halcomb and singer Brian Forgue. Subsequent recruits would be CURATE drummer Zach Gibson and MULCH colleague Kevin Carron on bass guitar. However, after deming two tracks the band was stopped in its tracks due to "financial problems'. Whilst GUTROT was in stasis though, with Gibson having joined MUTILATED, the demo circulated and drew a positive response.

The group was re-founded in 2003, adding ex-SOLSTICE member Chris as second guitarist. Signing to the Amputated Vein label GUTROT delivered six tracks for inclusion on a split album 'Excrutiatingly Euphoric Torment' shared with DYSENTERY in 2004. The band would lose the services of both guitarists Chris and Jon Halcomb in May, drafting Kevin as one replacement.

Zach Gibson resigned from his posts in both GUTROT and MUTILATED in June of 2004 in order to join THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER.
