Biography

Silver Spring's UNORTHODOX was a member of the Maryland Doom family that was put into the spotlight by the German Hellhound label. Initially billed as ASYLUM the band, following 1987 demos, cut the debut 1993 'Asylum' album re-billed as UNORTHODOX. Musicians for the first record included frontman Dale Flood, former INDESTROY bassist Jeff Parsons and drummer Ronnie Kalimon, a veteran of INTERNAL VOID and IRON MAN.

Parsons place would be taken by REVELATION's Josh Hart for the 1994 follow up 'Balance Of Power'. UNORTHODOX reformed in the late 90s with Flood being joined by Parsons, WRETCHED bassist Johnny Wretched and ex-WRETCHED drummer Mikey Phillips. Bassist Rob Hampshire would be a later inductee. Hampshire subsequently joined EARTHRIDE and NITROSEED.
