Announced in mid 2005, and provisionally billed as CROWBREED, this collaborative project paired HATEBREED frontman Jamey Jasta and CROWBAR and DOWN guitarist/vocalist Kirk Windstein. The duo, adopting the KINGDOM OF SORROW tag, spent August recording a debut album, incluing a MOTȪRHEAD's 'No Class', at Planet Z studios in Massachusetts with producer Zeuss.The BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and CROWBAR credited Steve Gibb contributed guest guitar.

KINGDOM OF SORROW was joined by Kenny Hickey of TYPE O NEGATIVE for a portion of dates on their 2008 North American tour with GWAR and Relapse labelmates TOXIC HOLOCAUST. Hickey filled in for Kirk Windstein, who was on tour with DOWN in late October and November. 

The band played the SAXON, UFO, MOTÖRHEAD and HEAVEN AND HELL headlined August 2009 'Wacken Open Air' festival in Germany.
