Biography

Kentucky Christian rock act BRIDE debuted with the 1986 'Show No Mercy' album, a record of considerable aggression bearing in mind its lyrical stance. BRIDE at this point consisted of the Thompson brothers vocalist Dale and guitarist Troy, second guitarist Steve Osbourne, bassist Scott Hall and drummer Stephen Rolland.

By the second album 'Live To Die', produced by Armand John Petri, Hall lost his position to newcomer Frank Partipilo. The album caught many Christian Rock fans off guard by including an unaccredited final track of screaming demons! (Actually a studio mix of piano and vocal howling!)

BRIDE were back to a single guitar band for the 'Silence Is Madness' album. Retaining mainstay Troy Thompson the band utilized additional studio guitar from Rob Johnson. By 1992 Rik Foley had occupied the bass position.

1995's 'Drop', on new label Rugged, found BRIDE in Grunge mode akin to the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. 1997's 'The Jesus Experience' found the band once more in collaboration with John and Dino Elefante and boosting their studio sound with the addition of guitarist Tim Bushong of LOVEWAR. The 1999 live album was limited to just 700 copies and saw the Thompson brothers & McBroom joined onstage by bassists Andrew Wilkinson & Steve Curtsinger.

Follow up 'Oddities' had Lawrence Bishop occupying the bass position and GUARDIAN's Tony Palacios on guest guitar. A resurrected BRIDE toured Brazil in August 2005 with support from fellow Christian Thrashers TRINO. The band drafted former BULLETBOYS drummer Denny Johnson in July 2006. However, BRIDE was then rejoined drummer Jerry McBroom.

The 'Skin For Skin' album, featuring a guesting Steve Osborne on guitar, was recorded at Waycross Studios in Ohio. This set saw release on Retroactive Records in July 2008.
