IRON HORSE

Biography

IRON HORSE was the vehicle ex-KEEL and STEELER vocalist Ron Keel would use to carve his way back into the Hard Rock world after a sojourn as a Country singer. It would come as no surprise that Keel's tenure in Nashville had rubbed off and the resulting IRON HORSE album betrayed strong Southern and Country influences.

The eponymous album, issued by Melodic Mayhem Records, was produced by another veteran vocalist- Mike Vescara of MVP, OBSESSION, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and DR. SIN. Keel's new band numbered OBSESSION guitarist Robert Marcello, bass player Geno Arce and drummer Gaetano Nicolosi. The track 'Run For The Border was co written by Keel's erstwhile KEEL six stringer MARC FERRARI and BLACK N' BLUE's Tommy Thayer. IRON HORSE would also cover the BAD COMPANY chestnut 'Shooting Star'.

In mid 2002 Marcello united with the RATT duo of guitarist John Corabi, also probably better known for his role as frontman in MȪTLEY CRÜE, and drummer Bobby Blotzer for an album project under the band name TWENTY 4 SEVEN. IRON HORSE entered the recording studio in December with producer Kevin Beamish. Robert Marcello formed up part of the reformed OBSESSION in mid 2003.

IRON HORSE made a high profile return in 2003. The new record included 'Dixie Highway' composed by Henry Paul of BLACKHAWK and THE OUTLAWS repute whilst MARSHALL TUCKER BAND guitarist George McCorkle co-wrote 'The Best Move'. The group signed a new recording deal with the Compendia Music Group for a 2004 record 'Bring It On', once again seeing production duties delegated to Kevin Beamish. In June 2005 the band contracted a license with new British label Rock Candy Records to market 'Bring It n' in Europe.
