Biography

Solo outings from STYX vocalist. His 'Desert Moon' debut, which includes a version of the JIMI HENDRIX track 'Fire', sees backing vocals from ROSEMARY BUTLER. Guitarist Tom Dziallo supplied guitar work for all of DeYoung's solo records. Both BILL CHAMPLIN and TAMARA CHAMPLIN contribute to 1988's 'Boomchild'. The album was produced by former BABE RUTH man Alan Shacklock.

Amidst legal wrangles with his former band mates as to the ownership of the name STYX DeYoung toured America in 2000 backed by a full 40 piece orchestra. An exclusive track, 'A Love Foretold', emerged in 2003 albeit under special circumstances. The song was included as a free CD single accompanying a romantic novel of the same name written by DeYoung's wife.

In a moment of well observed irony from DeYoung, the singer filmed a cameo appearance for the 2004 Hilary Duff/Heather Locklear movie, 'The Perfect Man', playing a member of a STYX cover band. On the live front, DeYoung would tour in support of a new album 'Dennis DeYoung And The Music Of STYX: Live With Symphony Orchestra'.

In a surprising move, DENNIS DEYOUNG announced in December 2005 that he would be performing shows in New Jersey alongside GLEN BURTNICK in April 2006.
