Biography

Marietta, Georgia Thrash Metal act HALLOWS EVE date back to 1984 with an initial line-up of vocalist Stacy Anderson, guitarists David Stuart and Skellator, bassist Tommy Stewart and drummer Tym Helton. The band's debut appearance came with the inclusion of the track 'Metal Merchants' on the Metal Blade 'Metal Massacre IV' compilation.

Drummer Ronny Appoldt appeared on the debut album although Tym Helton handled the drums on the tracks 'Metal Merchants' and 'Hallows Eve'.

HALLOW'S EVE returned with March 1988's 'Monument', recorded at Studio One in Atlanta with Donal Jones acting as producer. Drums for 'Monument', which included a cover version of QUEEN's 'Sheer Heart Attack', are by Rob Clayton although for live work Paul Kopchinski occupied the drum stool. By the third album Tym Helton was back in the fold. The track 'D.I.E.' was a featured track on the Metal Blade issued soundtrack album for the 1988 movie 'Black Roses'.

The group appeared to have split in late 1988 as Anderson departed to Los Angeles although Tommy Stewart and David Stuart carried on into the following year looking for new members and writing material.

The duo eventually found new guitarist JAMES MURPHY, previously with AGENT STEEL, and drummer Tom Knight but the pair lasted barely a few months, Murphy joining DEATH and later played with OBITUARY, CANCER, TESTAMENT, KONKHRA, DISINCARNATE as well as issuing solo product. Tommy Stewart later turned up as a member of FRAGILE X.

HALLOWS EVE reunited in early 2004, Tommy Stewart being joined by 'Tales Of Terror' album guitarist Skellator (now known as Skully) and new frontman Steve Cannon. Making up the numbers would be new personnel Dwayne Monk on guitars and DRYWATER drummer Dave Jensen. This very same line up would also forge ahead with a separate Black Metal project dubbed LESTREGUS NOSFERATUS. The resurrected HALLOWS EVE debuted live opening for fellow Thrash veterans EXODUS at the Atlanta Cotton Club on 26th April. However, in mid May Cannon was unceremoniously ejected, the obviously distraught former frontman issuing a lengthy statement claiming "This is one of the worst events in my life, and I don't have anywhere to turn for help". Within days the ex-singer announced a brand new Stoner / Doom venture BROKEN TRINITY, intending to recruit violinist April, LAND OF SOULS guitarist Jeffrey Hinely and bassist Chris Miller.

HALLOWS EVE bounced back in September, issuing their first product in over sixteen years in the form of a two track single entitled 'Evil Offerings'. The song 'Technicolour Roadkill' saw bassist Tommy Stewart handling lead vocals whilst 'Looking Glass' featured Skullator as spotlighted singer. The single would be launched with a 17th September gig at The Masquerade in Atlanta alongside DEICIDE. 2005 saw the issue of a brand new HALLOWS EVE studio offering, 'Evil Never Dies', recorded at Van Gogh Studios in Atlanta with co-producer Chris Gailfoil.

A lavish May 2006 box set, 'History Of Terror', saw release through Metal Blade compiling all three albums remastered plus previously unreleased live and rehearsal tracks and a 200 minute DVD. Meantime, HALLOWS EVE had contracted with Xtreem Music to re-promote' Evil Never Dies'. That same year Stacey Anderson forged modern Metal outfit TWO PRONGED CROWN, comprising guitarist Doyle Bright, of RIGOR MORTIS, ILK and THE CHAOS FOUNDATION, guitarist Chris Abbamonte, of DISTEMPER and ILK, bass player Jimmy Gorman, of DISTEMPER, ILK and THE CHAOS FOUNDATION, progammer Mink, of ILK, and drummer Mike Rollings, from METALMORPHOSIS, BIG TWIN DIN and JARBOE.

Tto celebrate the 25th anniversary of Metal Blade Records, original HALLOWS EVE members Stacy Andersen and Tommy Stewart will appeared on stage together for the first time since 1989 during the band's performance at the New England Metal And Hardcore Festival in April 2007. They would be joined by lead vocalist and guitarist Doyle Bright, also of TWO PRONGED CROWN and SOULZERO, and drummer Dane Jensen.

In late October 2009 guitarist Chris Abbamonte left HALLOWS EVE "for personal reasons." His replacement would be named as longtime Atlanta musician Evan Bartelson, previously with THE DESPISED, LAS TREGAS NOSFERATU and BLACK DANIELS.
