Biography

LILITU, founded in Atlanta, Georgia during 1995 by vocalist / guitarist Derek Bonner debuted with the demos 'Our Vessels Of The Sea' in 1996 and 'Servants Of The Twilight' in 1997. The band then added CERNUNNOS and ACHERON keyboard player Adina Blasé, issued a 1998 demo upfront of acquiring guitarist Jason Piona and drummer Evan Jones for the 2001 album 'The Earth Gods', released through German concern Emerald Factory. Live work, with session bassist Jonathan Potter, included supports to THE KOVENANT and NEVERMORE. However, both Evan and Blasé then departed and ICE PICK's Corey Long took over on drums. The self-published 'Memorial' followed in October 2001 and would be promoted with guest slots to OPETH and LACUNA COIL.

Bass player Chris Todd departed in May of 2003, being superseded by Shane Bell. LILITU signed to The End Records in March of 2004, entering Ledbelly Sound Studios to their third album 'The Delores Lesion'. In October the band added bassist Eric Smith and the PYRAMAZE and INFERNAL METHOD credited keyboard player Jonah Weingarten to the ranks.

The band announced a September 2005, five week US road partnership dubbed the 'International Extreme Music Festival' in collaboration with GOD DETHRONED, NIGHTRAGE, EPOCH OF UNLIGHT, HELL WITHIN and BYZANTINE. This tour added German acts LEAVES' EYES and ATROCITY in October.
