South Florida Thrash Metal band formed in 1990. SOLSTICE's eponymous 1992 debut album, released by the German Steamhammer label, featured a line-up of frontman Rob Barrett, guitarist Dennis Munoz, bassist Dave Smith and HELLWITCH, ANGER and DEMOLITION HAMMER credited drummer Alex Marquez. Renowned guitarist JAMES MURPHY would make his presence felt on session lead guitar.

Both Barrett and Marquez would team up with premier Death Metal band MALEVOLENT CREATION during 1992. That same year Marquez and Barrett would guest on the ABYSMAL demo 'Surrealistic Fatality'. In 1994 Munoz and Marquez played with Hardcore band ANGER.

By the time of 1995's 'Pray' sophomore effort SOLSTICE, retaining Munoz and Marquez had been joined by new personnel vocalist / guitarist Christian Rudes and bassist Garret Scott.

In April of 2004 the erstwhile SOLSTICE pairing of drummer Alex Marquez and guitarist Dennis Munoz re-emerged in an eighties Power Thrash outfit with a working title APOCALYPSE RISING. The quartet would be completed by second guitarist Willy Medina and bass player Mike Marabell.

Alex Marquez, Christian Rudes, Dennis Munoz and Garret Scott reunited in August 2006 to write new material. In early 2009 the band issued a new album entitled 'To Dust', which included the CYNIC cover version 'Extremes'.
