Biography

Vocalist Rob Rock cut his first solo album in 2000. Rock had made his name with a series of guitar virtuoso themed acts such as Connecticut's VICE, JOSHUA, IMPELLITERRI, M.A.R.S., DRIVER and for German guitar hero AXEL RUDI PELL on his 'Nasty Reputation' outing. Rock had also featured as session vocalist for the 1989 debut from Canadian Christian Rock outfit ANGELICA.

Produced by Roy Z the 'Rage Of Creation' album featured ex-FOREVER and present day WARRIOR bassist Ray Burke, SAHARA and DRIVER drummer Reynold 'Butch' Carlson and a guest appearance on the tracks 'Media Machine' and 'All I Need' from ex-BADLANDS and OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist JAKE E. LEE. The record would hold a further surprise with an adventurous and downright heavy cover version of the ABBA track 'Eagle'. Rock also spent time in 2000 recording with WARRIOR and contributed the same year to EDGUY mainman Tobias Sammet's ambitious AVANTASIA eponymous album project.

Rock planned on live dates to promote the album assembling a live band comprising of guitarists Angelo Janotti and RICK RENSTROM of WICKED WAYS, bass player Stephen Elder of WICKED WAYS and GEMINI drummer Tracy Shell. Rock toured Europe throughout March of 2001 as guest to AXEL RUDI PELL.

A new album, slated for release during 2003, would once again be produced by Roy Z. Bob Rossi would be added to Rock's band for live work. Guitarist RICK RENSTROM Struck out solo drawing in a wealth on international Heavy Metal talent to guest on his debut 2002 ROB ROCK produced 'Until The Bitter End' album.

The 2003 outing 'Eyes Of Eternity', credited to, ROB ROCK'S RAGE OF CREATION, witnessed sessions delivered by bass player Ray Burke, JAG PANZER and SAHARA guitarist Rick Renstrom and EDGE OF TIME keyboard player MISTHERIA. CAGE frontman Sean Peck supplied backing vocals. An epic 12 minute track 'The Hour Of Dawn' incorporated a mammoth array of lead guitar solos courtesy of names such as Roy Z., Gus G. of DREAM EVIL and FIREWIND, Tom Naumann from PRIMAL FEAR, Carl Johan Grimmark of NARNIA, RICK RENSTROM, JEFF KOLLMAN, Jack Frost of SEVEN WITCHES and SAVATAGE repute, Howie Simon from TAMPLIN and TALISMAN, Jimi Bell of the GEEZER BUTLER BAND and WAYNE as well as AXEL RUDI PELL.

Two of Rock's players, Rick Renstrom and Steve Elder, participated in the new heavyweight band unit LEASH LAW announced in March, working alongside CRIMSON GLORY and SEVEN WITCHES singer Wade Black with ICED EARTH and DEATH drummer Richard Christy.

ROB ROCK put in guest sessions on the 2003 solo album 'Raise Your Fist To Metal' from erstwhile METALIUM and SAVATAGE guitarist JACK FROST and also MISTHERIA's 'Messenger Of The Gods' opus. Touring into 2004 found Rock's band partnered with PRIMAL FEAR and BRAINSTORM for European dates in March. Subsequent album recordings, billed as 'Holy Hell', would find Rock working with Roy Z once again with drum tracks laid down by the HALFORD and ICED EARTH credited Bobby Jarzombek. Guitar and bass came courtesy of NARNIA's Carljohan Grimmark and Andreas Olsson. Other special guests included EDGUY singer Tobias Sammet.

2005 European shows saw ROB ROCK sharing stages with an 'Aces High' package billing comprising MASTERPLAN, CIRCLE II CIRCLE and PURE INC. His all Swedish backing band included the NARNIA trio of guitarist Carl-Johan Grimmark, bassist Andreas Olsson and drummer Andreas Johansson alongside PLATITUDE's Daniel Hall on second guitar.

JVC Victor Records released the 'Holy Hell' album in September 2005. Rock, alongside his former colleague guitarist Chris Impelliterri, re-assembled their eighties act VICE to put in a one off reunion concert on 8th October 2005 at JoAnna's Café in Somers, Connecticut. ROB ROCK teamed up with an all-Christian package comprising NARNIA, MORTIFICATION and EXOUSIA for a South and Central American tour in November 2006 hitting Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Costa Rica.

The album 'Garden Of Chaos', produced by Roy Z and Carl-Johan Grimmark, was released in September 2007 through AFM Records. The album was mixed and mastered at Hansen Studios in Denmark by Jacob Hansen.

ROB ROCK's 27th September 2008 performance at the 'ProgPower USA IX' festival at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia was recorded/filmed for a live CD/DVD release entitled 'The Voice Of Melodic Metal - Live In Atlanta'. This saw release in Europe on 22nd May 2009 via AFM Records and in the U.S. on 30th June through Regain/KOCH International.
