Biography

Band project band led by MR. BUNGLE and ex-FAITH NO MORE vocalist Mike Patton with MELVINS guitarist Buzz Osbourne, MR. BUNGLE bassist Trevor Dunn and ex-SLAYER, GRIP INC. and TESTAMENT drummer DAVE LOMBARDO. The band's debut came with the inclusion of 'Chariot Choogle' on a MARC BOLAN tribute album.

FANTÔMAS toured Australia and Japan in 2000 and would land the honour of supporting TOOL on their Autumn 2001 American dates.

During 2001 Patton had united with JESUS LIZARD guitarist Duane Denison, Kevin Rutmanis of the MELVINS and John Stanier of HELMET to create TOMAHAWK. His industries would also see the singer taking on roles in MALDOROR with MERZBOW's Masami Akita as well as PEEPING TOM in alliance with GORILLAZ DJ The Automator. Mike Patton made his presence felt on the HENRY ROLLINS assembled 'West Memphis Three' benefit album 'Rise Above', lending lead vocals to a version of BLACK FLAG's 'Six Pack'. FANTÔMAS united with the MELVINS and TOMAHAWK for Australian dates in December of 2003.

Osbourne made waves with his induction into the Grind 'supergroup' VENOMOUS CONCEPT, this outfit seeing the guitarist partnered with the illustrious underground Metal veterans vocalist Kevin Sharp of BRUTAL TRUTH repute and the NAPALM DEATH rhythm section of bassist Shane Embury and drummer Danny Herrera. Meantime Patton toured the US in March of 2004 heading up another project band RAHZEL. The singer would also make his acting debut in the movie 'Firecracker' and issue his tranquil solo album 'Romances' in November, a collaboration with Norwegian producer John Erik Kaada.

Promoting the 'Suspended Animation' album FANTÔMAS, THE LOCUST and bassist Trevor Dunn's TRIO CONVULSANT formed up the 2005 US 'Geek' tour in April. With Dave Lombardo unavailable for European gigs in the Summer the veteran figure of Terry Bozzio stood in.
