Biography

Heavy Metal band from Connecticut founded in 1983. OBSESSION debuted with a cut on the Metal Blade 'Metal Massacre' compilation series prompting their signature to the label for a full length outing 'Marshall Law'. Vocalist Michael Vescera's post OBSESSION career includes a recording stint with Japanese metallers LOUDNESS. Following LOUDNESS' decision to recruit a Japanese front man back into the band, Vescera was hired by Swedish speed guitar guru YNGWIE MALMSTEEN with whom he recorded and toured. His global reach would be extended with terms with Brazilian Metal band DR. SIN.

In 1997 he issued a Japanese release solo album. Vescera also guests on HELLOWEEN guitarist ROLAND GRAPOW's 'Kaleidoscope' record and issued his own MVP album in 1999. By 2001 Vescera was fronting JOE STUMP'S REIGN OF TERROR for the 'Sacred Ground' album.

An erstwhile OBSESSION guitarist, Robert Marcello, would later come to the fore with the band IRON HORSE, fronted by ex-KEEL singer Ron Keel. Coincidentally the album would be produced by Vescera. In mid 2002 Marcello united with the RATT duo of guitarist John Corabi, also probably better known for his role as frontman in MÖTLEY CRÜE, and drummer Bobby Blotzer for an album project under the band name TWENTY 4 SEVEN. Meantime drummer Jay Mezias was to be found behind the kit with HANDS OF STONE and WORLDPAIN.

OBSESSION, citing original members Michael Vescera and drummer Jay Mezias, reformed in 2003. Joining the founding duo would be Swedish guitarists Robert Marcello of DANGER DANGER and IRONHORSE repute and REIGN OF TERROR's Joe Stump with the X-FACTOR-X and JEFF SCOTT SOTO band credited bassist Chris McCarvill. A new OBSESSION album, 'Carnival Of Lies', would be set for 2006 release.
