Launched in May 2008, CHICKENFOOT is a high profile "supergroup" featuring former VAN HALEN frontman and solo star SAMMY HAGAR, ex-VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony, guitar virtuoso JOE SATRIANI and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith.

Once debut album recordings were complete, CHICKENFOOT debuted by playing a private concert on 18th March 2009 at the Grove of Anaheim in Anaheim, California for employees of Best Buy. A short run of "intimate" US venues ensued throughout May, commencing on the 14th at the El Corazon in Seattle, Washington.

The self-titled album, clad in a unique heat sensitive sleeve, was released on 5th June by the newly formed earMUSIC label. Selling over 48,000 copies in its first week of release, 'Chickenfoot' debuted impressively at no. 6 on the US Billboard album charts. Defying all music business trends, the album bumped up two places the following week to no. 4, having sold over 131,000 copies.

Concerts in Europe coincided, with CHICKENFOOT performing a solitary UK show at the London Shepherd's Bush Empire, plus appearances in Austria, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, France and Germany.
