Biography

A hard rockin' oufit created by ex-THE CULT bassist Haggis, one of whose previous incarnations had been as Kid Chaos whilst a member of ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION. Vocalist Frank C. Starr (a.k.a. Frank Casamassina) had previously fronted New Yorkers ALIEN.

Drummer Dimwit (Ken Montgomery) is the brother of FEAR, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, BLACK FLAG and DANZIG drummer Chuck Biscuits and had previously turned down an offer to fill Dave Lombardo's shoes in SLAYER. His pre-THE FOUR HORSEMEN history included Canadian acts THE SKULLS and D.O.A.

THE FOUR HORSEMEN supported LOVE/HATE on their 1992 European dates but split up shortly after. Starr joined OZZY OSBOURNE's rhythm section of bassist Terry Nails and drummer Randy Castillo to create BONE ANGEL with guitarist John Lowery. This band had evolved from a unit known as HARD LUCK involving Starr, Nails, DIO, GIUFFRIA and ROUGH CUTT guitarist Craig Goldy and drummer Mark Bistany. The Nails / Castillo and Lowery combination would briefly work with OZZY OSBOURNE In the studio. Lowery journeyed through TWO, DAVID LEE ROTH and MARILYN MANSON (under the stagename Johnny 5).

In 1994 Dimwit succumbed to a drug overdose At a concert organised to celebrate the drummer's life his elder brother Chuck Biscuits formed part of a THE FOUR HORSEMEN reformation. Biscuits would later demo with the band prior to joining SOCIAL DISTORTION in 1996.

Although THE FOUR HORSEMEN folded, guitarist Dave Lizmi and bassist Ben Pape did create a new act subtly re-titled FOUR HORSEMEN for 1996's 'Gettin' Pretty Good At Barely Gettin' By' which included a cover version of RICK DERRINGER's 'Still Alive And Well'. Drums were handled by Canadian Randy Cooke, later to play for ex-TRIUMPH man RIK EMMETT, MONKEYWALK, BROTHER and BLOOD RED FLOWER.

THE FOUR HORSEMEN's 'Rockin' Is Ma Business' would be later covered by noted Stoner exponents ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY on their 'River City Revival' album. Tragically Starr was killed in a motorbike accident on June 18th, 1999.
