Biography
The solo project from L.A. GUNS' mentor and guitarist Tracii Guns. Originally entitled KILLING MACHINE the album began as a project destined seemingly only for a Japanese release. However, in early 1998 the 'Killing Machine' album was released in the United States on Stand Back Records, albeit differing slightly from the original.
The version of the record released in America was remixed, remastered and found to boast additional tracks in the form of two live L.A. GUNS songs cut with the band's new vocalist Ralph Saenz; namely 'Sex Action' and a cover of VAN HALEN's 'Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love'. A subsequent re-release on the Deadline label credited the record solely to TRACII GUNS.
'Killing Machine' was recorded with Tracii's former guitar tech Kent Holmes on bass, Riley Baxter, who later joined ex-WARRIOR SOUL man Kory Clarke's SPACE AGE PLAYBOYS, on vocals and Chuck Burns, vocalist / guitarist in SPEEDBALL, on drums. Guns would occupy himself with new, high profile band BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION but in a surprise move during December 2005 he joined QUIET RIOT. Equally surprising was his ejection from this band within a matter of weeks.
In early 2006 Guns fired up a solo band, THE TRACII GUNS BAND, the line-up of which included early L.A. GUNS singer Paul Black, bassist Jeremy Guns (Tracii's son) and another ex-L.A. GUNS man, drummer Nickey Alexander. The group announced US club dates for April and May.
GILBY CLARKE, previously of GUNS N' ROSES, and Tracii Guns joined forces for the 'Lone Guns' North American tour in May 2009.
