SIXX:A.M., headed up by MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx, vocalist / guitarist James Michael and former BEAUTIFUL CREATURES guitarist DJ Ashba, made its live debut in July 2007 at the Crash Mansion following a press conference to promote Sixx's autobiographical book and accompanying soundtrack, 'The Heroin Diaries: A Year In The Life Of A Shattered Rock Star'.For this show the group employed programmed drum tracks.

The album was released by Eleven Seven Music, with a portion of proceeds donated to the organisation Running Wild in the Night, a fundraising initiative for Covenant House.

For initial touring the band line-up was augmented by BEAUTIFUL CREATURES drummer Glen Sobel. SIXX:A.M. toured as part of MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'Crüe Fest', along with PAPA ROACH, BUCKCHERRY and TRAPT, commencing 1st July 2008 in West Palm Beach, Florida, with Tony Palermo of PAPA ROACH at first on drums.His place would be taken by Joshua Stevens.

DJ Ashba joined the ranks of GUNS N' ROSES on 21st March 2009.
