Another vehicle for the talents of star guitarist, EARL SLICK, New York's SILVER CONDOR also featured ex-AXIS bassist Jay Davis, later to join PRIVATE LIFE, singer Joe Cerisano, ex-THE BABYS guitarist / keyboard player John Corey and drummer Claude Pepper. The group's distinctive sound was highlighted by Cerisano's soaring vocal qualities. The West Virginia native, then fronting ELDERBERRY JAK, had been recommended to Slick by Tommy Morrongello, guitarist for Ian Hunter. In order to attend the audition Cerisano drove from his hometown in New Jersey across the USA in his Volkswagen to California armed with a Revox A-77 tape deck and a collection of reel to reel tapes of songs he had been stockpiling. He arrived in Los Angeles on 14th December 1979.

Slick and Cerisano gelled and the band's demo was hawked around Los Angeles by manager Trudy Green. SILVER CONDOR's first self-titled album, released by CBS Records in 1981, was produced by Mike Flicker. 'You Could Take My Heart Away' gave the band a valuable national radio hit, reaching no. 32 on the Billboard charts.

The band's second album, released in 1983, saw a drastic change in band personnel, with Steve Plunkett replacing Slick. Steve Goldstein deputised for keyboard player Jon Corey and sessioneers Kenny Aaronson and Craig Krampf replacing the previously established rhythm section. It's interesting to note that Steve Plunkett actually had a co-writing credit on the track 'Goin' For Broke' on the first SILVER CONDOR album. The 'Trouble At Home' album also featured guest appearances from JOURNEY guitarist NEAL SCHON alongside RICK DERRINGER, on the track 'Thank God For Rock And Roll', and session guitarist Waddy Wachtel. Clarence Clemons also contributed saxophone.

Canadian songstress LEE AARON's 1985 album 'Call Of The Wild' included Lee's version of SILVER CONDOR's 'Holdin' On Barely' (suitably renamed 'Barely Holdin' On'),

After the break up of the band Steve Plunkett put AUTOGRAPH together. Both vocalist Joe Cerisano and Aaronson later contributed to BLUE OYSTER CULT's 1988 album 'Imaginos'. Cerisano had originally recorded all the lead vocals for 'Imaginos' when it was still a projected Albert Bouchard solo album. When Columbia insisted the project become a BLUE OYSTER CULT record, Eric Bloom recorded over Cerisano's tracks leaving just one song where the original rendition can be heard.

Cerisano featured on the 1998 TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA album 'The Christmas Attic'. That same year he featured alongside Gloria Estefan on the musical soundtrack album 'Goya: A Life In Song'. In November 1999 Cerisano was chosen to provide live backing vocals for Nu-Metal band KORN at their New York City Apollo Theatre radio broadcast concert to promote their 'Issues' album.

JOE CERISANO'S SILVER CONDOR issued the 'Rarities Collection Volume I' in 2003. In 2006 Outta The Woods Records issued the album 'Live Across America' credited to JOE CERISANO / EARL SLICK'S SILVER CONDOR.
