Biography

A Biker Rock band from Los Angeles fronted by ex-club doorman Ron Young, LITTLE CAESAR also had an ex-shoe salesman, guitarist Lauren Molinaire, and a former backing musician for ETTA JAMES, guitarist Apache, in their midst. After a 1989 EP release, 'Name Your Poison' on Restless Records, and overcoming opposition from the 'Little Caesar' pizza chain over use of the name, the band signed to Geffen for their debut album, produced by Bob Rock. In some territories the debut album was renamed 'Chain Of Fools', after the first single which charted at no. 88, so as to avoid confusion with the Doo Wop group of the same name. The album scored no. 139 on the US Billboard charts. A second single, 'In Your Arms', peaked at no. 79.

Renowned session player EARL SLICK joined the band for the 'Influence' album, replacing Apache in early 1991. Slick had just left DIRTY WHITE BOY following the break up of that group due to record company politics. Slick was working with LITTLE CAESAR whilst simultaneously working on a solo album, 'In Your Face', on which Ron Young contributed vocals to two tracks, a cover of SAM COOKE's 'A Change Is Gonna Come' and JIMI HENDRIX's 'Manic Depression'.

Following the completion of 'Influence' drummer Tom Morris was replaced by ex-RIVERDOGS skin-basher Marc Danzeisen, Morris opting out to do other things. Young subsequently founded MANIC EDEN with ex-WHITESNAKE men guitarist Adrian Vandenberg, bassist Rudy Sarzo and drummer Tommy Aldridge. When this band folded after one album Young fronted DIRT. A further LITTLE CAESAR album 'This Time It's Different' emerged during 1998. By 2001 the frontman was to be found guesting on solo work from erstwhile LION and BAD MOON RISING guitarist DOUG ALDRICH.

LITTLE CAESAR returned to action in 2008, the band featuring singer Ron Young, guitarist Louren Molinaire, bassist Fidel Paniagua with Tom Morris on drums. By July they had been re-joined by original guitarist Apache. New album tracks were completed in June 2009.
