Biography

'Threat Con Delta' was the 2001 album project assembled by erstwhile ANTHRAX vocalist NEIL TURBIN, known for his work on the 1984 'Fistful Of Metal' album, and his latter TURBIN band project, to return to the Metal scene. Turbin had also worked with Japanese guitar maestro KUNI. Involved in the 'Threat Con Delta' studio sessions would be AMSTERDAM's Ronnie Borchert, erstwhile MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, HEAVEN and TALAS guitarist MITCH PERRY and his fellow six-stringer Kurt James of STEELER and DR. MASTERMIND. Both JEFF SCOTT SOTO and PAUL SHORTINO would also be in evidence.

After many delays 'Threat Con Delta' finally emerged in 2003 through the Mayhem Music label. In early 2004 Turbin assembled a touring band billed DEATHRIDERS comprising guitarists Steve Ornest and INVICTA's Vernon Anderson, FIREHOUSE bassist Dario Seixas and drummer Izzy Diaz. However, Ornest, Seixas and Diaz all decamped to forge RESURRECTION.

For Turbin's show at the 2005 'Monterrey Metal Fest' in Mexico he assembled a band involving Kurt James once again, second ex-FAIL FOR FUN guitarist Beau Simpson and the CAGE rhythm section of bassist Mike Giordano and drummer Mikey Neil. A new studio album, originally billed 'Diary Of A Metal Thrashing Madman' but switched to 'A Fate Worse Than Death', was projected for later in the year. Turbin contributed guest lead vocals for a track entitled 'Crucifixion' on JACK FROST's solo album 'Out In The Cold'.

On 9th July 2005 Turbin, having newly inducted Gene McEwen of STEEL PROPHET, ARMED FORCES and PROJECT STEIGER on drums, lined up at The Pound outdoor amphitheatre in San Francisco alongside TESTAMENT, VICIOUS RUMORS, LÄÄZ ROCKIT, HIRAX, AGENT STEEL, DEKAPITATOR, MUDFACE, DREAMS OF DAMNATION, BROCAS HELM and IMAGIKA for the 'Thrash Against Cancer' benefit.

DEATHRIDERS announced a new line-up of guitarist Kurt James, bassist Sandy K. Vasquez and drummer Chris Moore, of ORCUS and V.V.S.I., in September. Subsequently guitarist Steve McKnight, of CRY WOLF, was added. This band debuted live on March 29th 2007 at the House of Blues in San Diego.
