The band name said it all really, a supergroup of veteran musicians with a rather diverse history.

The rhythm section of Nigel Harrison and Clem Burke were formerly with BLONDIE together. Guitarist STEVE JONES was legendary in his role with the SEX PISTOLS, whilst his fellow guitarist Tony Fox Sales had worked with TODD RUNDGREN and IGGY POP. Frontman MICHAEL DES BARRES, meantime, had enjoyed a relatively successful career as vocalist with SILVERHEAD and DETECTIVE and as a solo artist and a TV actor

Prior to forming CHEQUERED PAST, Des Barres had taken over ROBERT PALMER's role in POWERSTATION due to the singer's reluctance to tour on the back of the outfit's successful debut album.

The album was released in Britain on the Heavy Metal America label at the tail end of 1985.

Burke would rejoin BLONDIE for renewed success in the late 90's. 2000 found the drummer involved with THE RACKATEERS, the band assembled by MC5's guitarist WAYNE KRAMER and GUNS N' ROSES bassist DUFF McKAGAN.
