Following the release of the debut album 'Guilty As Sin' BLOODLUST split with vocalist Guy Lord and added ex-ABATTOIR man Steve Gaines, brother of STRYPER bassist Tim Gaines. Lord promptly forged his own act suitably billed LORD, taking BLOODLUST guitarist Anthony Romero with him for the album 'The Second Coming'.

Further line up shuffles in the BLOODLUST camp witnessed the departure of drummer M.E. Cuestas. The 'Terminal Velocity' EP of 1988, issued by Wild Rags, sees BLOODLUST with a line up of Gaines, guitarists Earl Mendenhall and John Lisi, together with bassist Sandy K. and drummer Graig Kasin.

BLOODLUST were later to recruit bassist Eric Meyer. In 1990 Sandy K. and John Lisi created LAST RITES. Romero would hook up with the reunion line up of TYRANT in 1996, and later gorge CRUCIFIRE. Steve Gaines, after resurrecting ABATTOIR, also fronting PAGAN WAR MACHINE and joining DREAMS OF DAMNATION, signalled his intention to issue a solo album, billed 'Anger As Art', in August of 2004. Former BLOODLUST guitarist Earl Mendenhall would be active on the club circuit with MOTÖRHEAD tribute band LEMMY'S WART.
