Announced in August 2006, BIG NOISE comprised a cast of elite players involving former FANDANGO, RAINBOW, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, MOTHER'S ARMY and DEEP PURPLE vocalist JOE LYNN TURNER, QUIET RIOT guitarist Carlos Cavazo, OZZY OSBOURNE, VINCE NEIL band, BEGGARS & THIEVES and BILLY IDOL bassist PHIL SOUSSAN, the CINDERELLA credited keyboard player Gary Corbett and drummer Vinny Appice, a veteran of DIO, WWIII and BLACK SABBATH. Both Cavazo and Appice had also at the same juncture featured in the POWER PROJECT venture. BIG NOISE's first endeavour would be the making of a DVD for the corporate concert industry. However, Vinny Appice opted out in early 2008.

In June 2008 Joe Lynn Turner announced he was now fronting PURPLE RAINBOW, another collective of US musicians citing association with classic acts DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW. The quartet featured drummer Bobby Rondinelli, of RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH and BLUE ÖYSTER CULT repute, keyboard player Tony Carey, of RAINBOW and the PLANET P. PROJECT, plus guitarist Craig Goldy, associated with DIO, GIUFFRIA and BUDGIE

BIG NOISE performed in Iraq for American military personnel in September 2008. Spanish dates were undertaken in May 2009.
