Biography
Californian Alt-Rock / Electro outfit JULIEN-K, dating back to first works conducted in 2003, is the brainchild of two of the founding members of the platinum-selling group ORGY — Amir Derakh, who also holds a tradition with ROUGH CUTT and JAILHOUSE, and Ryan Shuck. LOSER's Elias Andra supplied drums.
The band supported LINKIN PARK on their 2007 'Projekt Revolution' tour. Notably on the Chicago date, with Shuck unable to attend due to his brother's wedding, LINKIN PARK frontman Chester Bennington acted as substitute. The band also guested for EVANESCENCE and MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE during 2008.
The band released its debut full-length album, entitled 'Death To Analog' and notably executive-produced by Chester Bennington and mixed by Tim Palmer, on 10th March 2009 through Metropolis Records. A limited-edition version of the album included a bonus disc titled 'Death To Digital', featuring remixes of album tracks by such electronic luminaries as Paul Oakenfold, Deadmau5, SHE WANTS REVENGE, Photek, among others.
Members of JULIEN-K would also collaborate further on Chester Bennington's side project, initially billed SNOW WHITE TAN but evolving into DEAD BY SUNRISE.
Chester Bennington joined JULIEN-K on stage at The Roxy in West Hollywood, California on Thursday 8th April to guest on the songs 'Maestro' and 'Technical Difficulties'.
