Biography

A renowned name in extreme Death Metal circles. VILE was assembled by guitarist Colin Davis and bassist Matt "Favor" Faivre during 1996, pooling the talents of disbanded groups such as LORDS OF CHAOS, ENTROPY, SPORADIC PSYCHOSIS and THANATOPSIS. With the induction of second guitarist Jim Tkacz the band published a brace of demos, 'Unearthed' and 'Vile-ation', touring in November of 1997 in alliance with DEEDS OF FLESH. Guitarist Aaron Strong of ENTROPY and LORDS OF CHAOS was acquired in 1998.

Shortly after recording VILE's debut 'Stench Of The Deceased' album drummer Mike Hamilton made his exit to join DEEDS OF FLESH. Jim Tkacz jumped ship to DEEDS OF FLESH too. In 2002 the 'Depopulate', featuring MUDSLINGER bassist Lars Von Lowen as session man, was released on Listenable Records for Europe and Unique Leader Records in the USA.

VILE would re-issue 'Stench Of The Deceased' in 2003 to coincide with a European February / March package tour alongside MANGLED, INHUME, DISAVOWED, and SPAWN OF POSSESSION. The new version added three extra live tracks plus an unreleased studio track.

The group severed ties with singer Juan Urteaga in May of 2003, drafting a swift replacement in ILL OMEN, DAEMONICIDE and ORIGIN's James Lee. By August long standing guitarist Aaron Strong was also to depart. VILE put in a run of gigs commencing 12th February 2004 in Houston, Texas that had the band traversing North America in league with EXHUMED, HYPOCRISY and CANNIBAL CORPSE. The band's roll call for these gigs put original members Colin Davis and Matt Faivre alongside ORIGIN vocalist James Lee, lead guitarist Lucas Jaeger, a scene veteran of SUICIDE CULTURE, MINCERY and SLEEP TERROR, and Danish drummer Reno Kiilerich, a veteran of such acts as FROZEN SUN, PANZERCHRIST, 12 GAUGE, EXMORTEM and KOBEAST. The drummer stepped up a further league in March of the following year when he was recruited as session man for DIMMU BORGIR's European, South American and US 'Ozzfest' festival dates.

VILE donated their rendition of 'Cold' to the AT THE GATES tribute album, 'Slaughterous Souls - A Tribute to At The Gates' released in September 2004 through Drowned Scream Records. VILE drafted EXODUS bassist Jack Gibson in January 2005 to record a new album 'The New Age Of Chaos'. The band announced a road union with PSYCROPTIC and DECREPIT BIRTH for the 'Bloodletting North America' Summer tour.

VILE lined up with DEEDS OF FLESH, MONSTROSITY and IMPALED for the 'Gutting Europe 4' European tour beginning in Poland during late March 2006. VILE's line-up for these shows saw Colin Davis joined by an all new cast comprising the DIVINE RAPTURE, AZURE EMOTE and I.C.E. credited Mike Hrubovcak on vocals, J.J. Hrubovcak of DIVINE RAPTURE and MOURNING on second guitar, BLOOD RED THRONE, APOSTASY, UNSPOKEN NAMES, MR. CUCUMBER, DISMAL EUPHONY and THE ALL SEEING I bassist Erlend Caspersen and ex-VITAL REMAINS drummer Marco Pitruzella.

The band partnered with DEEDS OF FLESH, DECREPIT BIRTH and ODIOUS MORTEM on the 'bloodletting North America V' tour of the USA in July 2006.
