BAR 7 was formed by ex-TESLA men singer Jeff Keith and guitarist Tommy Skeoch, originally going by the title SOFA KING. The rhythm section comprised former FLAME members bassist Steve Smith and drummer Denis Bostock. Promoting the album 'The World Is A Freak', BAR 7 supported L.A. GUNS on their 2000 American tour. TESLA would be involved in a high profile reformation in late 2000 though cutting short BAR 7's career.

Japanese versions of the album 'The World Is A Freak' saw an additional bonus track in 'Psycho Insane'. BAR 7 would also prior to their demise contribute an exclusive live version of 'Ladybug' to the 2001 WDHA radio compilation album 'The Tour Bus- Road Trip'.
