Singer John Payne replaced John Wetton as frontman for ASIA in 1992. He would go on to feature on eight studio albums before the 1982 era classic line-up of ASIA reunited in 2006. With this development, band mentor Geoff Downes granted Payne permission to tour as ASIA FEATURING JOHN PAYNE. For this new venture he would be joined by drummer Jay Schellen, an ASIA member since 2005 and previously with UNRULY CHILD, BADFINGER and HURRICANE, the LANA LANE credited Erik Norlander on keyboards, guitarist Guthrie Govan.

John Payne and Erik Norlander both featured on the ROSWELL SIX project, unveiled in 2009 as an ambitious Progressive Rock project conceived by international bestselling author Kevin J. Anderson, manifesting itself with the album 'Terra Incognita: Beyond The Horizon' released by Prog Rock Records.

The group's summer 2009 US touring campaign commenced on 5th July at the 'American Music Festival' in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. For this run of dates Govan was replaced by guitarist MITCH PERRY, a veteran of STEELER, TALAS and the MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP amongst others.
