Biography

Glendale, Arizona Death infused Hardcore act JOB FOR A COWBOY debuted in 2002, releasing a three track demo two years later. An opening formation counted singer Jonny Davy, guitar players Ravi Bhadriraju and Andrew Arcurio, bass player Chad Staples and drummer Andy Rysdam. The latter was superseded the following year by Elliott Sellers whilst Brent Riggs took over the bass spot.

The band released a self-financed EP, entitled 'Doom', in 2005. The EP attracted the attention of Arizona independent label King of the Monsters, who distributed the disc nationwide. JOB FOR A COWBOY then contracted to Metal Blade Records, who re-issued 'Doom' yet again, this time with a bonus track. Further membership flux resulted in Arcurio being usurped by Bobby Thompson.

JOB FOR A COWBOY parted ways with drummer Elliott Sellers in October 2006. The group scheduled a round of British dates in March 2007, packaged with UNEARTH, DESPISED ICON and DAATH.

JOB FOR A COWBOY announced the addition of drummer Jon Rice, of CROWN THE LOST and ASHEN OAK, to the group's ranks in January 2007. The 'Genesis' album sessions, recorded at Blue Light Audio Media in Phoenix, Arizona with producer Cory Spotts, were wrapped up in early March. SABBAT guitarist Andy Sneap provided the final mix. US concerts in April had the band aligned with PSYOPUS and CANNIBAL CORPSE.Released on 1th May, 'Genesis' proceeded to sell over 13,000 copies in its first week of sale to debut at no. 54 on the national Billboard album charts.

In June JOB FOR A COWBOY landed a valuable slot at the UK 'Download' festival. Summer 2007 dates throughout July and August had the band involved in the gargantuan 'Sounds Of The Underground' touring festival accompanied by THIS IS HELL, NECRO, GWAR, CHIMAIRA, AMON AMARTH, THE ACACIA STRAIN, HEAVY HEAVY LOW LOW, GOATWHORE, THE NUMBER TWELVE LOOKS LIKE YOU, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, DARKEST HOUR and EVERY TIME I DIE amongst others. With little respite, the band co-headlined the October 2007 'Radio Rebellion' tour with running mates BEHEMOTH, GOJIRA and BENEATH THE MASSACRE.

2008 heightened the live exposure with a slot on MEGADETH's 'Gigantour' festival dates, sharing stages with CHILDREN OF BODOM, HIGH ON FIRE and IN FLAMES. On the festival front JOB FOR A COWBOY performed for a second time at the 'Download' event and featured on the bill og Germany's 'Wacken Open Air' show. That November a US headline run was supported by ALL SHALL PERISH and HATE ETERNAL.

Guitarist Ravi Bhadrirajutook his leave to prioritise his education during late 2008. He would be replaced by Alan Glassman from DESPISED ICON. From December onwards the group engaged in recording sessions for their second album. In late May 2009 the band posted a new track online, 'Unfurling A Darkened Gospel'. The album 'Ruination' emerged on 7th July.
