Jazz flavoured Progressive Rock. ZZEBRA featured ex-JUICY LUCY, STRABIMUS, RIFF RAFF and AYNSLEY DUNBAR'S RETALIATION keyboard player Tommy Eyre and erstwhile IF members guitarist Terry Smith and saxophonist Dave Quincy. The second album 'Panic' saw the introduction of guitarist Steve Byrd. The album also includes an unaccredited guest slot from JEFF BECK.

A third album, titled 'Take It Or Leave It' recorded in 1975 with bassist John McCoy, was withdrawn shortly after release. Genocky, Bird, Eyre and McCoy all decamped to the IAN GILLAN BAND. McCoy subsequently forged MAMMOTH and issued solo product credited simply to McCOY. Eyre later travelled through the DAN McCAFFERTY band, GARY MOORE band, GREG LAKE BAND and BBM.

ZZEBRA's third album, renamed 'Lost World', was eventually issued in 2001 by archive specialists Angel Air.
