Founded in Birmingham during 2004, JESU is a band project featuring Justin Broadrick of FALL OF BECAUSE, HEAD OF DAVID, NAPALM DEATH and GODFLESH alongside GODFLESH and PRONG drummer Ted Parsons with Diarmuid Dalton on bass guitar. The act took their title from the very last song on GODFLESH's final album 'Hymns'. Broadrick's wide ranging musical interests include diverse projects such as FINAL, GOD, GOD MACHINE, ICE, J2, SCORN, SOLARIS BC, SWEET TOOTH, TECH LEVEL 2, THE SIDEWINDER and YOUPHO. During 2006 he would act as touring guitarist for SUNN0))).

Dry Run Recordings debuted JESU in August 2004 with the EP 'Heartache', this set recorded entirely by Broadrick. Signing to US imprint Hydra Head Records JESU cut the full-length JESU album for release in January 2005. This would be the first full band release to incorporate Parsons and Dalton. Paul Neville of CHASM and LOOP guested on the song 'Man / Woman'. Japanese editions of 'Jesu' hosted two extra exclusive songs, 'Your Path to Divinity (The Endless Path)' and 'Friends Are Evil (Highest Throne)'.

An album entitled 'Conqueror' arrived in 2007. Conspiracy Records from Belgium issued a limited edition double vinyl edition. Upon the release of 'Conqueror' in the USA JESU hit the road partnered with ISIS and ZOZOBRA throughout February and March. INTRONAUT drummer Danny Walker joined the ranks for these shows.

A vinyl version of the inaugural JESU EP 'Heartache' was released by Justin Broadrick's own Avalanche Recordings label in a gatefold sleeve on 180 gram vinyl as a limited edition of 1000 copies in August 2008.

The group performed at the U.K.'s Damnation Festival, taking place Saturday, 24th October 2009 at Leeds University Union.
