Biography

Highly rated Death Metal act ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY, formed in Lowestoft, Suffolk during late 2006 by vocalist Steve 'Sewar Mouth" Regan, debuted with the EP 'Welcome To Sludge City', on 4th June 2007 through This City is Burning Records. Side activity would see Regan and guitarist Jamie "Chinstrap" Sweeney pursuing Grindcore projects ANAL SNOG and VILEAPE. Regan also, having association with THESE BLOODY HANDS, activated solo endeavour HUMANEXCRETOR.

An ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY album, 'Before The Throne Of Infection', was released on April 15th 2008 via Siege Of Amida. Originally the US version of 'Before The Throne Of Infection' was set to be be released through Candlelight Records but this arrangement switched over to Ferret Records. US versions of the album did not carry a lyric sheet, as the label felt the content too strong for the market. At this juncture the group comprised Regan, Sweeny, guitarist Al "Mowgli" Clayton, bass player Ross "Big Vig" Davey, of Berkshire's VIATROPHY, and drummer Dan "Hasselgoff" Smith.

Smith opted out in August 2008, being superseded by Lyn "320" Jeffs, of NEXUS INFERIS, DARK EARTH, TREPHINED, CREPITATION and INGESTED repute. In March 2009 the group contracted with Germany's Nuclear Blast Records. That June fill in bassist Sean Hynes, of CREPITATION, INGESTED and DECREPIT WOMB, was announced as a permanent band member. The band supported TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED, DYING FETUS and headliners CANNIBAL CORPSE in the UK during the autumn of 2009. However, Lyn Jeffs exited that September to prioritise INGESTED.

Regrouping, ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY announced the addition of bassist Nathan Applegate and drummer Bradley Merry, of DAM, TRENCH HEAD and RAISE THE DEAD, to the group's ranks. US dates, flanking VITAL REMAINS, BENEATH THE MASSACRE, DYING FETUS and THE FACELESS, were scheduled in November as part of the 'Planetery Depravity' tour, but the group was forced to pull out due to delays with the immigration process.

The album 'The Reign Of Darkness', recorded at Foel Studio in Wales with engineer Chris Fielding then mixed by Erik Rutan at Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida, was released on 22nd January 2010 via Nuclear Blast worldwide, excluding the U.K. where it was made available through Siege Of Amida Records.  The U.K. version of 'The Reign Of Darkness' included a bonus DVD, limited to 1,000 copies only.

ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY toured Europe as support to SUFFOCATION in March 2010.
