London based Progressive Metal band BIOMECHANICAL, founded in 2001 and bowing in with the 'Distorted' demo, released an October 2003 debut album, 'Eight Moons', through Revolver Records. The group is fronted by the DECEPTOR and BALANCE OF POWER credited Greek native John K. (a.k.a. Yiannis Koutselinis). BIOMECHANICAL Gained valuable exposure when they were hand picked to headline the second stage at the 'Bloodstock' festival.
The band signed a four-album deal with Elitist/Earache Records in November 2004, ushering in 2005 with the sophomore album 'Empire Of The Worlds'. John K relinquished his role in BALANCE OF POWER during February 2005 to prioritise BIOMECHANICAL. The band filmed a promotional video for the track 'The Empires Of The Worlds' with director Adam Mason in late April. The following month BIOMECHANICAL recorded a four song session for BBC Radio and in June grabbed valuable supports to SHADOWS FALL. September saw further supports, this time to STAMPIN' GROUND.

The band, working with producer Chris Tsangarides, recorded a cover version of JUDAS PRIEST's 'Painkiller' at Ecology Studios in October. The tracks was added as a bonus song on a re-issue of 'The Empires Of The Worlds' in November. That same month and into December the group supported EXODUS in Europe.
