Biography

Loughborough Melodic Rock band BURN have undergone many transformations; from the days of DETENTE through RENEGADE and finally to BURN. Bassist Marc Stackhouse is ex-MEAN ARENA. The line-up of Stackhouse, vocalist Jeff Ogden, guitarist Rab DeVenney, keyboard player Barney Stackhouse and drummer Karl Bee, finalised in 1987.

The quintet, proven accomplished songwriters, floundered for more than five years as RENEGADE, performing only a handful of British gigs. An American college tour did little to bolster their reputation outside of their Midlands hometown. However, once the name change had been made to BURN the quintet released the excellent traditional Rock album 'So Far, So Bad' in 1994 to deserved glowing reviews.

A further album was recorded during 1995, titled 'Spark To A Flame' In 1996 the band appeared at the 'Gods 96' event in Wigan in the early half of the year on a bill headlined by TEN and began work on a proposed third album.

In 2006 it was learned that BURN had been joined by former ROGUE MALE guitarist Julian Nicholas, also operational with the XXX BAND.
