Biography

Announced in the Autumn of 2004, GOD'S ARMY was a band unit conceived by former HELLOWEEN and METALIUM drummer Mark Cross, vocalist / bass player John A.B.C. Smith of GALLOWS POLE, HALLOWED and AT VANCE repute together with guitarists Ian O'Sullivan, of HALLOWED, and Don Amiro. As a solo artist, Smith had released the 1995 album 'The Revelation Of John'.

Pre-METALIUM, British born Mark Cross held credits stretching across Greek acts such as SCRAPTOWN, MAGNA CARTA and SPITFIRE as well as occult Metal band NIGHTFALL. Whilst in the employ of METALIUM Cross would also session on KINGDOM COME's 'Too' album. Other unions saw Cross involved with Greek based endeavour VALANOS, with US Power Metal band WINTER'S BANE in July of 2004 and joined German Heavy Metal band AT VANCE in February 2005.

GOD'S ARMY entered the studio in early November to lay down a debut album. That same month Cross joined Greek outfit FIREWIND. In December GOD'S ARMY put in their debut live appearances, a mix of club headliners and supports to PAUL DIANNO and MYSTIC PROPHECY in Germany.

Yet another band outfit of Cross' would be THE SUPREMACY, a multi-national Metal band hailing from the UK, USA, Brazil and Holland comprising singer Rafael Gubert of AKASHIC and BARROS, guitarist Bill Hudson of CELLADOR, AQUARIA bassist Fernando Giovannetti and keyboard player Joost van Den Broek of AFTER FOREVER and AYREON repute.
