A Derbyshire Black Metal band with a turbulent history. HEATHEN DIETY was assembled in May 1999 by vocalist / bassist Dagon, guitarist Dace and keyboard player Necrult, soon oulling in a rhythm section of bass player Drathen and female drummer Serene, along with former 13 CANDLES and THE REALM guitarist Azrael during August of the same year. HEATHEN DIETY debuted with a demo tape 'Whispers Of The Unlight'.

In June 2000 Dace departed, his position soon filled by Saemath. In this incarnation the band supported HECATE ENTHRONED on their December 2000 UK dates. February of the next year witnessed further tribulation with the decampment of both Drathen and Serene. HEATHEN DIETY enrolled INTOXICATION PLC and TWISTED AUTUMN DARKNESS bassist Oskariot and drummer Sathan (a.k.a. Dan Theobald) in the June. The band's new sticksman boasted a lineage traced back through acts such as 13 CANDLES, TWISTED AUTUMN DARKNESS, SLAUGHTER OF SOULS and SUCH BEAUTYFUL SIN.

Necrult would be the next in line to leave, followed shortly after by Saemath. The band inducted guitarist Midgard, previously with Sheffield act ENTRAILS OF CHRIST, during December. Guitarist Charon came into the fold in mid 2002, usurping Midgard, in preparation for recording of an album 'Walpurgisnacht, For The Glory Of Satan'.

The band put in an appearance at the London 'Infernal Damnation' in May 2004. Dagon joined HECATE ENTHRONED as their new singer in October. In 2005 Azrael, in alliance with Norwegian musician Favn, previously a member of SINCERA, forged WITHER.
