Biography

Known for most of their professional life as the irrepressible sibling Rock DJ team 'The Bailey Brothers' Dez and Mick Bailey became well known figures in the Rock clubs across the length of breadth of Britain with a theatrical show that emplyed exploding guitars, excessive pyros and generous giveaways. The pair also held down a long standing journalistic career at 'Sounds' and 'Metal Hammer' magazine. The brothers would even be invited by SAXON to undertake duties an opening act and would later become MTV VJs. For such a high profile act the Baileys became conspicuous by their absence during the major part of the 90s. In fact they were assembling a band, BAILEYS COMET, and an album.

The record, which is a Celtic inspired slab of traditional Hard Rock, is noted for its track 'Revolution- co-written by Dez Bailey and the late, great THIN LIZZY frontman PHIL LYNOTT. Alongside the Baileys BAILEYS COMET boasted the talents of ALEXANDER'S PALACE vocalist Alex Edwards and a rhythm section of ex-HERITAGE, U.S.I. and SAXON bassist Paul 'Fasker' Johnson and former MONROE, U.S.I. and SAXON drummer Nigel Durham.

The band was rocked when Edwards made an abrupt exit just seven days before a projected tour. However, the high profile figure of ex-BLACK SABBATH vocalist TONY MARTIN's subsequent inclusion more than made up for the loss. Joining the live line-up on bass would be Jamie Mallender, previously a member of TEMPLE OF GROOVE and GILLAM. Danny Needham took over on drums. Subsequently, Mallender joined TONY MARTIN's solo band in 2005.

In 2009 both Needham and Mallender featured in the ill fated HEADLESS CROSS project.
