Biography

UFO vocalist Phil Mogg had, after three decades as frontman and the only stabilising factor for his priority act, finally decided upon solo works during 2001. Initially the project was simply billed as an eponymous venture but before long the band name STONETOWNE was in circulation. By July of 2002 this moniker had been revised to $IGN OF 4 for the 'Dancing With St. Peter' debut. The record included a cover version of TOM WAITS 'Clap Hands'.

Mogg would be joined in the recording studio by EDWIN DARE and COSMOSQUAD guitarist JEFF KOLLMAN, having collaborated previously with the six stringer on MOGG/WAY with UFO colleague PETE WAY. Others contributing would include the ex YNGWIE MALMSTEEN rhythm section of bassist Barry Sparks and drummer Shane Gaalaas, both also personnel from Kollman's COSMOSQUAD act.

As Mogg busied himself recording the 2002 UFO album 'Sharks' the guitarist collaborated with another Rock veteran, working up a band project with the esteemed figure of ex-DEEP PURPLE and BLACK SABBATH singer GLENN HUGHES along with drummer Robin Dimaggio.

With regular UFO bassist PETE WAY experiencing visa difficulties, Jeff Kollman took over bass duties for UFO's July 2005 US tour dates.
