Biography

Bradford Metal band whose self financed album 'Trust In Death And Rebirth' features erstwhile BURNING WITCH and THORR'S HAMMER drummer Jamie Sykes. The band evolved during 1997, founded by the former DARK EMBRACE musicians guitarist Tony Wildwood and bassist Daryl Parson, vocalist Kate, drummer Barry and PARONIRA guitarist Robb Philpotts. Tony also cited prior credits with NECROMANCER. This line-up undertook just two gigs and cut the debut demo tape 'Freedom To Perceive'.

Kate would depart, to concentrate on studies but also to sing for local act MAYA, and THE ENCHANTED pulled in vocalist Natalie from IN DYING GRACE. A second tape, 'Pagan Metal', arrive with this version of the band before Natalie was ousted. In May of 2000 Barry left to team up with the reformed MALEDICTION and THE ENCHANTED duly enrolled Jamie Sykes, recently returned from band activity in North America. In 2002 the track 'Forever In Your Dream' would be included on the Arcane Productions sampler 'Deathfest - The Art Of Extremity'. Following the release of the debut 'Trust In Death And Rebirth' album Sykes would leave the band in November of 2002. However, within a matter of weeks he would be back in the fold.

Bass player Daryl Parson dropped out in March of 2003, being superseded by Adam Thomas of EPITAPH, BORN INTO SODOM and RUINS OF AMBER repute. THE ENCHANTED acted as support to Norwegian Viking Metal veterans ENSLAVED for their one off January 2004 performance at London's Camden Underground. Sykes left yet again in June, being briefly replaced by Robb Philpotts brother Vinnie, of TORTOISE WALTZ and actually an early BLOODSTREAM singer, on a temporary basis. At this same juncture, Robb Philpotts, retaining his ties to THE ENCHANTED, would join BLOODSTREAM as their new frontman.

Tony Wildwood would be announced as guitarist for Nottingham based Pagan collective THE CLAN DESTINED, a Heathen Metal band spearheaded by ex-SABBAT and SKYCLAD singer Martin Walyier alongside bassist Iscariah of IMMORTAL repute. In February of 2005 Jamie Sykes re-assumed THE ENCHANTED drum stool. Sykes would also be found working with Doomsters ATAVIST.
