Biography
THE CROSS was a less than successful side project of QUEEN drummer ROGER TAYLOR following on from his solo albums 'Fun In Space' and 'Strange Frontiers'. The band performed many club tours fitting in and around QUEEN's schedule. Strangely the single 'Heaven For Everyone' featured Roger Taylor on lead vocal despite FREDDIE MERCURY having recorded the original version. Upon Mercury's death the track was revamped with his vocal once more in place.
For 'Mad, Bad And Dangerous To Know' the band put in a much rockier performance than on previous release, but Edney had departed to join ELTON JOHN's touring band and keyboards were handled by Mike Moran.
The third CROSS album 'Blue Rock' was only released in Germany, where the band's main appeal lay.
