Biography

Suffolk based TRESPASS opted for a more melodic form of Metal than many of their NWoBHM compatriots. The first TRESPASS line-up comprised of the Sutcliffe brothers, Mark on guitar and Paul on drums, vocalist/bassist Dave Crawte and bassist Richard Penny. The band later added vocalist Steve Mills and replaced Penny with Cris Linscott, although Mills was superseded by Robert Eckland and Linscott by Bob Irving.

With Eckland fronting the band TRESPASS contributed 'One Of These Days' and 'Stormchild' to the EMI Records 1980 'Metal For Muthas Volume II' album and made a great impression with the 'Bright Lights' EP. TRESPASS trimmed back down to a quartet with Eckland's departure and then to a trio when Irving finally left before the group split. Former singer Steve Mills joined Midlands Doom Metal band REQUIEM during 1984.

The Sutcliffe brothers and Crawte later formed BLUE BLUD, later BLUE BLOOD, although reformed as TRESPASS in the early 90s. The Japanese Pony Canyon label published the 'Metal Crusade '99' set, a split album partnered with NWoBHM era compatriots SAMSON, PRAYING MANTIS and TANK, recorded at the Hibiya Open Theatre, Tokyo that August.
