Biography

A Suffolk based Progressive Metal band. The group debuted in 1990 with a three track demo cassette 'Fear Is Life's Blood'. INNER SANCTUM's line up at this juncture comprised singer John Knight, guitarists Ian Leith and Ian Knight, bassist Kev Jackson and Jed Dawkins on drums. Follow ups included the 'Static Veins' session, recorded at Purple Rain Studios in November 1991 and 'Sensorium' in 1992 seeing David Hawkins adding additional guitars. The 'Questions' set of 1994 saw Hawkins replacing Knight and the final September 1995 recordings 'Knowledge At Hand' had David Ray substititing for Leith. Session players would be vocalist Helen O'Brien and keyboard player Paul Hyde-Clarke.

INNER SANCTUM was re-named FIFTH SEASON in 1995 and the self financed album 'Journey Through An Open Mind' emerged in 1997. In 2000 FIFTH SEASON members vocalist John Knight, bass player Kevin Jackson and guitarist David Ray forged a new act entitled D-VOID in union with drummer Simon Dawson, a scene veteran of DEEP SWITCH, PANIC, CHARIOT, DIRTY DEEDS, NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE, DEARLY BEHEADED and THE OUTFIELD. David Ray has also been involved with TENEBRAE and SKYCLAD.
