Biography
A side project from THRESHOLD guitarist Karl Groom and Clive Nolan of PENDRAGON, SHADOWLAND and ARENA fame, STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, titled after the classic 1951 Alfred Hitchcock movie, utilized the services of noted Progressive Rock vocalist TRACY HITCHINGS, previously a member of QUASAR. Drums on both albums were programmed by Groom.
'The Key Part I: The Prophecy' was recorded between June and September 1990 and was supposed to signal the first part in an intended trilogy. 'The Labyrinth' album, issued in 1993, was a continuation of the theme, seeing male vocals supplied by the PALLAS credited Alan Reed.
Nolan, along with RICK WAKEMAN's son Oliver, founded a musical union, simply titled CLIVE NOLAN & OLIVER WAKEMAN, for a 1999 concept album 'Jabberwocky', followed up in 2002 with an interpretation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle 'Sherlock Holmes' tale 'The Hound Of The Baskervilles'.
Throughout 2005 and 2006 Clive Nolan worked up his Rock Opera CAAMORA project in union with singer Agneiszka Swita. To coincide with CAAMORA live dates in October 2006 Nolan issued an EP, credited to CLIVE NOLAN & AGNEISZKA SWITA, entitled 'Closer'. This set included a re-recording of the STRANGERS ON A TRAIN song 'Sacrifice'.
